On the tranquil morning of May 24, 2024, devotees from across Sri Lanka convened at Sai Mandir, Colombo, to commemorate Buddha Poornima. Organized by the Colombo Samithi of Western & Southern Region, the event aimed to honor the teachings of Lord Buddha and Sri Sathya Sai Baba, fostering unity and spiritual growth among attendees.

The day commenced with a heartfelt Buddha Pooja, followed by melodious strains of bhajans, resonating throughout the Mandir, as the roster singers, SSE children, young adults, mahilas, and general devotees offered their heartfelt devotions. Through soul-stirring melodies, the atmosphere became imbued with spiritual energy, fostering a sense of unity and communion among all participants.

A distinguished guest, Reverend Kalubowila Paduma Thero, graced the occasion with his enlightening discourse, drawing inspiration from the teachings of Lord Buddha. His words resonated deeply within the hearts of the devotees, illuminating the path towards peace, compassion, and self-realization.

Devotees also engaged in Narayana Seva, serving humanity with selflessness and humility. The celebration culminated in a moving Bhajan Medley led by young adults, followed by Mangala Arathi.

In essence, the Buddha Poornima celebration served as a reminder of the importance of spiritual unity and selfless service in the journey towards enlightenment.
