On 20 December 2025, Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Talawakelle continued its disaster relief service by extending loving support to villagers affected by landslides in the Nuwara Eliya District. Service was rendered at shelters established at Vigneshwara Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, Helboda, Katukithula, where families have been staying after their homes were damaged or rendered unsafe.
At the shelter, a total of 169 individuals were residing, including 37 children under the age of 12, one pregnant mother, and three lactating mothers, reflecting the presence of groups in need of continued care and attention. Recognising these needs, 60 bedsheets and clothing items were distributed among 36 families, offering comfort, dignity, and reassurance during this challenging period.
This service was carried out as a continuation of relief efforts, following the identification of the needs of families still residing in shelters, as their homes remain at risk or severely damaged. The Centre continues to assess the needs of these families and is planning further services to support them in the days ahead.
