With the divine grace of Bhagawan, Sri Sathya Sai Water Project at Fernham Tamil Vidyalaya, Thalawakele was commissioned on 24th January 2026. Undertaken by Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation - Sri Lanka and coordinated by Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Thalawakele, the project ensures safe and reliable potable drinking water for students and staff, supporting their health, well-being, and learning environment.

Established in 1941, Fernham Tamil Vidyalaya has served generations of children from the estate and surrounding areas, steadily persevering and adapting through decades of challenges and limited resources.

A particularly heartening outcome of the project has been the renewed confidence among parents in the school’s facilities. As per the Principal, traditionally, only five to six new students would enroll annually; however, following the installation of the water facility, nearly 20 new student applications were received this year, reflecting the tangible impact of this service initiative on the community.

The commissioning ceremony was followed by an Education in Human Values (EHV) awareness programme, emphasizing the importance of character, discipline, and values-based living. Subsequently, Narayana Seva was lovingly offered to approximately 350 school children and parents who were present.

The entire programme was conducted in a spirit of love, unity, and selfless service, leaving a lasting impression on all participants and reinforcing Swami’s timeless message: "Service to man is service to God."
